Broken Bones Compensation Claims
Suffering a broken bone can have serious implications to your lifestyle and work life. Even a simple, uncomplicated fracture to a bone in the hand can prevent you from undertaking your daily work, but in serious cases, a broken bone may permanently restrict your mobility and can be life changing as a result.
If you have broken a bone through an accident that wasn’t your fault, however serious it may be, Claimsworth can help you claim compensation.
Types of broken bone and treatment
Broken bones and fractures can vary greatly in severity and therefore their treatment. A simple or ‘closed’ fracture, where the bone does not break the skin can be much easier to treat than a compound fracture where the skin is broken.
For simple fractures a plaster cast or splint and six weeks of immobility may suffice. For compound fractures, bone may have to be removed and the limb ‘set’ in place with metal pins. Compound fractures can also lead to osteoarthritis in the joints.
